Resumption of track activity gets thumbs up from customers

Monday, June 01 2020

Customers have welcomed the resumption of testing and trackdays at MotorSport Vision circuits following the government's phased relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions, with very positive feedback about new online check-in procedures and social distancing measures across all six UK venues.

The gradual resumption of public track activity began last Tuesday (26 May) in line with government guidelines, and testing and trackdays are now taking place at Brands Hatch, Cadwell Park, Donington Park, Oulton Park, Snetterton and the purpose-built driving facility at Bedford Autodrome.

MSV Trackdays resumed its activities from today (1 June), and bike and car trackdays are also being operated by third-party operators. A full calendar for car events can be found here and for bikes here. A range of measures have been implemented to reduce the need for personal contact - meaning attending an event should carry no more risk of infection, and likely much less, than a trip to your local supermarket.

Bike trackday operator No Limits was one of the first to hold events under the new COVID-19 protocols, and director Mark Neate said they had been well received.

"We have been completely overwhelmed by the support shown by our customers. We've had an unprecedented number of bookings for our relaunched trackdays at Cadwell Park, Donington Park and Snetterton, and those who have attended have followed the guidance to the letter.

"We have also received good feedback from our riders on all the new procedures that MSV has worked hard to put in place, the new electronic registration and briefing system has been especially well received," he said.

Pre-event registration for all activities has been moved online and face-to-face contact with MSV staff at the circuit is via a Perspex safety screen. Online video briefings must be viewed before attending trackdays and numbers are limited in pit lane garages, which must remain open at all times. Restaurants are offering a takeaway service (only).

Only essential helpers are permitted - just one additional person at trackdays - and extra space is available in the paddock to ensure customers can practice social distancing. Spectators are not currently allowed to attend and overnight stays are not permitted; full details of all the measures currently in place can be viewed here.

A full list of trackdays and test days can be found on each circuit's website.
