BRITISH GT QUALIFYING: poles for Oman Racing and Barwell

Oman Racing secured a British GT pole position on their series return in qualifying at Snetterton this afternoon.

The Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 machine was steered to race one pole by Ahmad Al Harthy, and was the only car to dip below the 1m50s bracket. The Omani racer was over eight tenths of a second clear of Paddock Motorsport's Kelvin Fletcher, who put his Bentley Continental on the front row.

The Enduro Motorsport McLaren 720S of Morgan Tillbrook will start third in race one, and was a quarter of a second clear of Barwell Motorsport's Lamborghini Huracan of Adam Balon.

WPI Motorsport's similar Lamborghini was fifth courtesy of Michael Igoe, with Andrew Howard's Beechdean Aston Martin Vantage sixth.

The second qualifying session, this time featuring the pro-drivers saw the Barwell Lambo of Dennis Lind take pole, just four thousandths of a second clear of the RAM Racing Mercedes of Yelmer Buurman.

The Beechdean Aston climbs to third on the race two grid courtesy of Jonny Adam, with Barwell's #1 crew fourth again, this time with Sandy Mitchell at the wheel.

The race two grid top-six was completed by Enduro Motorsport's Marcus Clutton and the Oman machine piloted by Charlie Eastwood.

Team Rocket RJN claimed GT4 pole for race one, with the McLaren 570S driven by Alain Valente, while Assetto Motorsport's Ginetta G56 secured the fastest time for the second race courtesy of Charlie Robertson.

The first British GT race at Snetterton starts at 10.10 tomorrow morning.
