MB and Motorbase confirm 2021 BTCC driver line-ups

Thursday, February 04 2021

MB Motorsport accelerated by Blue Square and Motorbase Performance, whose BTCC operations are run in tandem from the same workshop near Brands Hatch in Kent, have today finalised their driver line-ups for the 2021 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship season.

Race-winner Ollie Jackson joins the previously announced Jake Hill in the second MB Motorsport car, as the team switches to Ford Focus STs, as first prepared by Motorbase for the 2020 season.

Jackson has been a regular in the BTCC paddock since 2011, and he acheived a breakthrough season last year, winning twice as he stepped onto the top step of the podium for the first time.

The Motorbase duo will be Sam Osborne, who raced under the MB Motorsport banner last season, and Andy Neate who returns for a second succesive season with the same team.

Jackson said:
"I'm over the moon to be racing with MB Motorsport accelerated by Blue Square this season. Last year was a really memorable one for me and I'm determined to build upon that. I got on really well with the Ford Focus ST and now have the opportunity to take that success to another level in 2021."

Neate said: "I'm more determined than ever this year. For anyone, making it to the grid in the BTCC is a fantastic achievement. For me, returning to the grid with Motorbase Performance for a second consecutive season - something I have never done before - is really exciting."

Osborne said: "I'm thrilled to be working with Motorbase Performance this year. With this team, I can continue my progression in 2021. Last year I began to really settle into the series, so my aim for this season is to keep pushing myself as hard as I can and fight for the Jack Sears Trophy."

The BTCC visits the Brands Hatch Indy and Grand Prix circuits, Donington Park, Oulton Park and Snetterton this year across a revised schedule. You can click here to view all dates.
