BTCC race-winner James Nash to return with BTC Norlin

Monday, February 12 2018

Former Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship independent drivers' champion James Nash will return to the series this season with BTC Norlin Racing. The championship gets underway at Brands Hatch on 7/8 April.

Nash previously raced in the BTCC from 2009 to 2011, scoring his maiden victory in his most recent season at Rockingham in a Triple Eight Vauxhall Vectra on the way to the independents' championship. Since then he has raced in the World Touring Car Championship for two seasons, winning twice in a Bamboo Engineering Chevrolet Cruze on his way to third place overall and the independents' title in 2013. He has also competed in the Blancpain GT Sprint Series and the TCR International Series.

The 32-year-old will make his BTCC comeback with BTC Norlin Racing, which recently announced a deal to run Team Dynamics-built Honda Civic Type Rs.

"I'm delighted to be joining BTC Norlin Racing," Nash said. "We've been looking at opportunities over the winter and Norlin made an offer we just couldn't refuse.

"The Honda Civic Type R has proved itself to be one of the cars to beat so I'm confident of being competitive from the get-go."

Team Principal Bert Taylor added: "We are really excited about our prospects in the 2018 season and now have two young drivers and cars that are capable of challenging for podium places at each round.

"James has the character and determination to win and we are thrilled to welcome him to BTC Norlin Racing."
