Matt Summerfield kept up his impeccable record of results this weekend with his second win of the day (Monday) in the Delphi British Truck Racing Championship at Snetterton.
Heinz-Werner Lenz and David Jenkins finished second and third ahead of Ben Horne in fourth, Steve Thomas fifth and Cees Zandbergen sixth.
Starting from pole, Summerfield again made a good start to lead into the first corner leaving him untroubled by more first corner trouble. This time Ricky Collett made contact with Steve Thomas and Sascha Lenz, and while Collett was out on the spot, Thomas and Lenz were able to dig their way out of the gravel and continue.
Thomas was able to mount a superb recovery drive to finish fifth, including several brave passing moves including a three abreast move into Riches on lap two. Thomas then set about closing down on Zandbergen and was able to move past on the Senna Straight starting lap six. Zandbergen kept the inside line but a mistake at Montreal allowed Thomas to move past.
Sascha Lenz was able to finish seventh mounting a similarly impressive recovery drive after his second first corner mishap of the day.
Up the front it was a case of déjà vu, with Summerfield regularly pulling away from Heinz-Werner Lenz and David Jenkins by over a second a lap to claim the win by 16 seconds.
David Smith claimed Division Two honours, with Graham Powell and James Aikenhead second and third in class.
