Monday, August 24 2020

Snetterton saw a spectacular weekend of racing with Christian Iddon, Josh Brookes and Glenn Irwin all enjoying a trip to the top step of the podium after round six of the Bennetts Britsh Superbike Championship.

Christian Iddon secured his maiden win in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship in the opening race of the weekend, following a sensational race at the Norfolk circuit.

A fantastic start from the VisionTrack Ducati rider saw him instantly on the attack and up to second on the road, before a crash on the opening lap for Andrew Irwin brought out the safety car.

Danny Buchan led the pack until a crash on lap four put him out of contention, with Iddon taking the chequered flag from teammate Josh Brookes with Tommy Bridewell completing the top three.

VisionTrack Ducati secured victory once more in the second Bennetts British Superbike Championship race of the weekend with Josh Brookes enjoying his first win of 2020.

It was Glenn Irwin who led the race from pole position for Honda Racing with Brookes, Tommy Bridewell, Christian Iddon and Bradley Ray in hot pursuit.

The enthralling race saw contact between Danny Buchan and Ray, forcing the SYNETIC-BMQ rider to finish in tenth place. Lee Jackson put in a stellar performance and worked his Massingberd-Mundy Kawasaki into fourth place whilst Brookes snatched the lead from Irwin.

Brookes remained at the front of the field for the rest of the race, with Irwin and Bridewell completing the top three.

Glenn Irwin became the fifth different winner in the weekend's final race, with the Honda Racing rider also securing the Monster Energy Race of Aces trophy.

Christian Iddon got the leap off the pole position to lead the pack, with a hard-charging Josh Brookes and Tommy Bridewell close behind. Meanwhile, Glenn Irwin stormed his way through the field battling from seventh on the opening lap to jostling for position with brother Andrew for fouth.

Several changes of the lead and multiple overtakes from Irwin saw the Honda Racing rider get out in front and take the chequered flag in first, followed by Tommy Bridewell and Christian Iddon.
