Bennetts BSB - Bradley Ray snatches pole

Saturday, June 16 2018

Bradley Ray made a last-gasp effort to snatch pole in today's Bennetts British Superbike Championship qualifying to line up on the front row of the grid tomorrow alongside Josh Brookes and Glenn Irwin.

Irwin set the early benchmark after the opening flying laps in Q3 but was toppled by Brrokes before Ray made his move. The 21-year-old, who took the first two races of the season at Donington Park and is second in the standings, left his rivals no time to respond as the session drew to a close.

Second-place Brookes celebrated his first front row start of the season ahead of Irwin. Jake Dixon  heads the second row for tomorrow's opening race ahead of championship leader Leon Haslam and Dan Linfoot, who returns from injury this weekend.

Luke Mossey starts from the third row ahead of Danny Buchan, who had topped the final free practice session, and Michael Laverty who completes the top nine.

Less than half a second divided the top fiour after today's Q3 session, setting the stage for some close racing tomorrow on Snetterton's 300 circuit.
