Goff goes fastest in BTCC FP2 at Snetterton

Saturday, July 28 2018

Eurotech Honda driver Jack Goff claimed the fastest time in the second Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship practice session at Snetterton, a quarter of a second clear of Halfords Yuasa Honda driver Dan Cammish.

Goff's time of 1m55.684s was over a second quicker than the fastest time this morning, with the track now completely dry after this morning's shower. Goff led the majority of the session while Cammish's late effort was enough to put him second.

Morning pace setter Matt Simpson could be a force to be reckoned with again this weekend after claiming the third quickest time, with Mike Bushell also showing well again, setting the same time as Simpson and classified fourth.

Brett Smith made it two Eurotech Honda's in the top-five, ahead of Alfa Romeo driver Rob Austin. Another Honda Civic, this time at the hands of Chris Smiley was seventh ahead of Vauxhall man Senna Proctor.

Halfords Yuasa driver Matt Neal and BMW ace Andrew Jordan completed the top-10.

The BTCC drivers are back in action for the usual qualifying session at 15.10, with the one-off ballast-free qualifying session for the Diamond Double concluding today's action at 17.40.
