Snetterton set for truck racing spectacular

Friday, September 08 2017

Snetterton is gearing up for a weekend (9/10 September) filled with family fun with the British Truck Racing Championship (BTRC) headlining the circuit action, plus a plethora of activities for all ages off-track.

The BTRC is set for eight thrilling races, with reverse-grids, powerslides, and wheel-to-wheel duels at up to 100mph from the 1,000-horspower, 5-tonne leviathans of motorsport. Five of the races will be held on Sunday, and there will also be a bumper programme of 14 support races during the weekend from Legends cars, Pickup Trucks, Caterhams and Renault Clios.

If that's not enough to grab the attention, then there's a busy off-track schedule that should keep race fans of all ages entertained. Both days will feature the awe-inspiring Red Dragon Monster Truck, which has been specially-built to carry up to ten passengers as it crushes cars in a special arena.

Also open all weekend are Snetterton's children's playground and a selection of bouncy castles.

The entertainment is ramped up for Sunday with a funfair including rides, stalls and more. There will also be a 30ft climbing wall, plus a Baby Bouldering Wall for younger adventurers. Children can also have their faces painted for a small charitable donation.

Complementing Sunday's BTRC action will be a display of showtrucks, and these uniquely-liveried machines will be kept in pristine condition by their proud owners. Visitors can also get up close to the racing trucks, with a grid walk free to all on Sunday lunchtime, where the drivers will be chatting and signing autographs ahead of the afternoon's opening race.
