Enhancements to facilities and safety at Snetterton

Tuesday, January 24 2017

A raft of improvements have been made to Snetterton circuit over the winter, ready for another busy season filled with events, trackdays and testing at the Norfolk circuit.

Safety enhancements have been made to runoff areas on the main 200 and 300 circuits, with new Armco on the Senna Straight and the Brundle-Nelson esses escape road after the bridge on the Bentley Straight.

Run-off along the Senna Straight has also been increased, and the grassguard on the exit of Wilson has been renewed along with repairs to the track edge at the recently-renamed hairpin.

Other changes include rewiring for the timing feeds in the garages and on the pit wall, and there have been improvements to drainage in the paddock for the garages.

Circuit Manager, Jamie Hopper said: "Following improvements to the Main Gate and access in early 2016, we have continued to invest and develop the venue over the winter. The projects have been mainly track focused, along with improvements in the paddock and timing feeds in garages. Continuing projects include a complete refurbishment of the washrooms in Tyrrells, and we look forward to welcoming competitors and spectators during a busy 2017 season."
