British GT and BRDC F4 seasons launch at Media Day!

Tuesday, March 15 2016

The 2016 British GT Championship and BRDC Formula 4 Championship launched at Snetterton today (Tuesday) ahead of a busy season of co-headlined events which will launch at Brands Hatch on April 16-17.

The BRDC F4 season will kick off with a standalone event at Snetterton on Easter Weekend (Sunday 27 - Monday 28 March) before both championships reconvene at Brands Hatch, ahead of visits to Cheshire's Oulton Park on 28-30 May and a return to Snetterton on 6-7 August.

The British GT Championship has attracted a capacity grid of mouth-watering supercars once again, with stunning machines from Aston Martin, BMW, Lamborghini, Audi, Bentley, McLaren, Lotus, and Maserati amongst those sharing the limelight. This includes factory-supported entries from Aston Martin, Lamborghini, and McLaren, as the championship welcomes an influx of top-class teams and drivers.

Entries to watch out for this year will include Barwell Motorsport's brand new Lamborghini Huracan, which will be driven at times throughout the year by Fabio Babini, one of the Italian marque's star drivers and GT ace Alexander Sims. Elsewhere, two-time British GT Champion Andrew Howard will be joined onboard an Aston Martin Racing-backed Beechdean Vantage GT3 by young charger Ross Gunn, whilst Ecurie Ecosse will campaign a McLaren 650S for Alasdair McCaig sand Rob Bell.

The GT4 class has been bolstered too, with a greater variety of cars than ever before, including the exciting new Maserati GT MC, plus the McLaren 570S GT4 of Ecurie Ecosse which was unveiled at Snetterton this morning.

BRDC Formula 4 will star more than 20 top young drivers from as many as 10 nations battling it out in an all-new Tatuus-Cosworth car which is much faster than its predecessor. BRDC F4 heads into its fourth season perfectly positioned to feed drivers from FIA F4 categories to European F3 and GP3.
