Priaulx Junior to make race debut at Snetterton this weekend

Thursday, November 05 2015

Sebastian Priaulx, son of three-time World Champion and current British Touring Car Championship star Andy, will make his race debut on the Snetterton 300 circuit this weekend (7-8 November) in the KICK Start Ginetta Junior Winter Series. The 14-year-old will contest the weekend with JHR Developments, an established front-running and title-winning team in Ginetta Juniors, in four races across the weekend.

The Ginetta Junior Winter Series allows teenage drivers to make their car race debuts in machine identical to those raced on the support bill for the BTCC, in which the elder Priaulx made his comeback this year.

Guernsey's Sebastian is expected to be one of the youngsters to watch in Ginetta Junior racing going forward, after he narrowly missed out on claiming the Ginetta Junior Scholarship to Stuart Middleton, following an evaluation process at Bedford Autodrome where he worked with current BTCC stars including Tom Ingram and Adam Morgan. This comes after a promising karting career which included multiple race and championship successes.

PriaulxJrPriaulx jr said: "This is my first race and I can't wait. There is so much for me to learn and this is an ideal chance to gain some experience before the winter break. It looks like the conditions will be very changeable and this will make the experience all the more demanding. Let's see how it all unfolds and I hope that I can have four good races."

There will be plenty of other promising youngsters in action on the bill too, including a host of aspiring Grand Prix talents in the Duo BRDC Formula 4 Autumn Trophy. There will also be action from the Mini Seven Invitation race and a huge MSVR Allcomers grid.

Once the dust has settled on the final race meeting of the year at Snetterton, local band Walkway will kick off the late afternoon entertainment in Tyrrell's restaurant, with rockets taking to the sky in a colourful fireworks display from approximately 5:00pm.

Tickets for Racing and Fireworks at Snetterton on 7/8 November are available on the gate for £14 each day. Admission for the fireworks (only) is £5 from 4pm on Sunday. Remember - under-13s go free!
