Stuart Oliver heads the order in Truck qualifying at Snetterton

Saturday, September 13 2014

Multiple British Truck Racing Champion Stuart Oliver headed qualifying ahead of this weekend's round of the 2014 championship at Snetterton today (Saturday).

Oliver headed title leader and reigning champion Mat Summerfield by over half a second on the 300 circuit, whilst Summerfield's chief rival Chris Levett failed to appear, his crew still working on his Renault during the session.

Third was taken by Steve Thomas from Ben Horne and Richard Collett, followed by Ray Coleman in his second race with his ex-works Renault. Meanwhile 2011 champion David Jenkins could only manage the ten fastest time, amongst the Division Two runners. However with the grid decided on results from the previous round, the session served as a warm-up for many.

In seventh place, Division Two title challenger Ryan Smith was two seconds faster than championship leader Simon Reid, with Graham Powell third in class. Behind Jenkins, Steven Powell headed Brian Burt and returning local man Jim Bennett.

The opening British Truck Racing Championship race of the weekend will commence at 13:40 today.
