Westmoreland returns with Buildbase BMW in 2014

Monday, November 25 2013

James Westmoreland will return with the Buildbase BMW team for the 2014 MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship following an announcement at Motorcycle Live at the NEC Birmingham.

Westmoreland remains with the team for a second consecutive season after celebrating the team's strongest campaign since their move to BMW machinery. The Beverley-based rider scored four fourth places and BMW's first MCE BSB pole position at Donington Park on his way to securing fifth place in the 2013 standings after qualifying in the top six in the Showdown for the first time.

The team have also confirmed that Lee Jackson will once again line up in the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship following his debut season where he scored three podium finishes, ending the season in fourth place overall.

The second MCE BSB rider in the team will be announced in due course.

Westmoreland said: "I am really happy to be with the team again for next year and that was my intention even before the end of the season. I feel like we are a big family at the Buildbase BMW team and last season we had incredible support and achieved a lot. We pushed hard last season and we did a good job and I think we can build on that next year as the Showdown is where we need to be again. I am looking forward to getting started and aiming for an even stronger season in 2014."
