Andrew Jordan: "Snetterton always makes for good racing"

Tuesday, July 30 2013

Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship title contender Andrew Jordan is aiming to win again at Snetterton this weekend (3/4 August). The Pirtek Civic driver took a victory at the Norfolk venue last year and has often been the quickest of the Hondas in 2013.

The 24-year-old lies second in the title race, just 19 points shy of leader Matt Neal. "I'm very pleased," Andrew commented on his early season form. "We've been pretty consistent but had some bad luck, as have most of the other front runners. I think we could have got a couple more wins, especially at Thruxton, but that's the way it goes. I'm sure it will go up and down more towards the end of the year, so if we can keep scoring and be there or thereabouts I'm sure we'll be in the hunt at the end of the year."

Andrew took part in the recent tyre test at Snetterton but wasn't concerned about the pace of the MG: "We tried a lot of things, compared to where MG are I think we are in the ballpark with them, We've been working our way through our test programme, it's easy on test days to make knee-jerk reactions to things and divert from the plan, so we've been very structured and disciplined."

Aside from testing, Andrew has been busy during the summer break, but has found time to unwind: "I do a lot of mental preparation and I'll be researching the data from last year, and with the test we'll be looking at a lot of the video footage and the data. I'll also be chilling out, because I've been pretty busy and not had a weekend off since Croft, so I'm looking forward to relaxing, especially if the weather's good!"

However Andrew doesn't mind breaking off his summer holiday to race at Snetterton: "It's great, makes for good racing this new layout, lots of big stops and hairpins, making it more attractive for overtaking. It's a good one for me."
