Truck Racers set for Bank Holiday battle at Snetterton

Tuesday, August 13 2013

The British Truck Racing Championship returns to the Snetterton 300 circuit this Bank Holiday weekend (25/26 August), with an exciting new race format and a tense title battle!

The season is reaching a critical point with just two rounds remaining after the Norfolk visit. In the top Division 1, reigning champion Matt Summerfield leads 2011 winner Dave Jenkins by 27 points and the two rivals are likely to be in the thick of the battle. However Steve Thomas, Richard Collett and Stuart Oliver are also still in the hunt and will be keen to claw back vital points at this stage of the season.

In Division 2 Brian Burt has a 17 point lead over Bungay's Jim Bennett, who has been enjoying a competitive season in the championship. These slower trucks will start each of the five races from the head of the field and it is up to the quicker Division 1 guys to fight their way past for the win! The 300 circuit's tight infield layout will provide a serious challenge to all of the competitors and is expected to add to the excitement.

The opening two truck races will take place, along with qualifying, on the Sunday, whilst the final three races complete the action on Bank Holiday Monday. In addition there will be races for Pickup Trucks and Legends, which are both renowned for providing close and thrilling spectacles.

In addition to the racing, spectators can enjoy a VIP-style grid walk on the Monday, in which the British Truck drivers will also be signing autographs. The day will also include a large display and lunchtime parade of showtrucks. Spectators can enjoy all of the action from the venue's panoramic viewing banks and new grandstands at Bomb Hole and Murray's corners, whilst a funfair and free children's adventure playground will ensure a great time for fans of all ages!

Tickets for the British Truck Racing Championship at Snetterton 300 on 25/26 August are available from £18 with free admission for children aged 12 and under. For more information call 0843 453 9000 or click here.
