Le Mans challengers shake down at Snetterton

Friday, April 27 2012

A selection of Le Mans prototypes were present at Snetterton yesterday as teams began the build up to the famous 24 hour race at Le Mans which takes place in under two months' time.

Cars from Greaves Motorsport, Status GP, RLR, Jota and the much anticipated RML-run 'DeltaWing' cars were present at the test, which ran on the 200 circuit.

Of great interest was the continued presence of the stunning and revolutionary 'DeltaWing' car that will compete as a guest entry in this year's 24 hours, which has run at Snetterton regularly over the past 10 days. At the wheel yesterday were Marino Franchitti, Michael Krumm and Satoshi Motoyama.

Meanwhile, local hero Martin Brundle was driving for Greaves alongside son and ex-F2 star Alex, as well as team mates Lucas Ordonez and Tom Kimber-Smith.

2010 FIA F2 champion Dean Stoneman also experienced Le Mans machinery for the first time at the test as he continues his recuperation from cancer at the wheel of a RLR LMP2 machine.

General testing is available at Snetterton throughout the year. For more information on testing click here or call 0843 453 2000.
