Inaugural Champion of Snetterton crowned

Wednesday, September 14 2011

The British Motorcycle Racing Club has awarded its first 'Champion of Snetterton' Trophy, launched to commemorate both the circuit's 60th anniversary and its recent transformation.

The trophy, donated by circuit owner MotorSport Vision, is awarded to the highest points-scoring rider across the club's many MRO classes during their meetings at Snetterton. The races on the 300 in March were complemented by a return visit in September, this time on the 200 configuration.

The inaugural Champion of Snetterton for 2011 is Dan Fuller. Riding a Kawasaki ZXR 600 in the MRO Stock 600 class, he has scored several victories this year. Despite missing three rounds he sits third in the table and although the overall title is out of reach, he can still take the runner-up slot in the final round at Brands Hatch later this month.

Meanwhile there is still the Champion of Brands crown to be settled on 24/25 September. Fuller missed the May round at the Kent venue, so the destination of the AMC trophy is unlikely to be his cabinet.

Tickets for the BMCRC Club Bike Championships, where the Champion of Brands will be crowned, are available from £10, with free entry for children aged 12 and under. For more information, call 0843 453 9000 or click here.
