Thundersport look forward to their debut Snetterton 300 visit this weekend

Monday, July 11 2011

Superb two and three-wheeled action is guaranteed at Thundersport GB's first ever meeting on the new Snetterton 300 circuit this weekend (16/17 July). The popular motorcycle club is one of the UK's fastest growing, with many of their races also being televised.

Phil Crowe, Connor Tagg and Aaron Hay will be protecting their leads in the top Thundersport GP1, GP2 and GP3 classes this weekend. Andy Lawson also holds a similar advantage in Thundersport 500. Meanwhile, Ian Mackmann holds a fine lead in Superstock 1000, whilst in the 600 class, Mick Anderson will want to extend his lead over Paul Wishart.

Formula 600 thrills will be provided by the continuation of a close battle between Ben Field and Richard McNeill for overall honours and similar rivalries are played out by Jake Dixon and James Folkard in the Aprilia RRV450GP class. However Tom Oliver is enjoying a good season in the Aprilia Superteens.

Amongst the Streetfighter classes, Keith Smith is running away with the Xtreme and A categories, with Barry Utting and Tony Hughes enjoying similar leads in B and C. However the new Snetterton layout could prove to favour their rivals this weekend.

Joe Francis is the man to beat in the 6 Nitro Newcomers points, as is Ian Popplewell in the 6 Alto Digital Minitwin Cup. However Lee Reveley is just 11 ahead of Scot Adam in the 5 Morello Supertwin Cup and the pair will surely be out to prove who's best this weekend.

Finally there's sidecar action with F600. Expect the Neary/Chauhan pairing to be at the front, with a field of challengers providing spectacular action around the twists of the new Snetterton infield.

Tickets for the Thundersport GB Club Bike Championships at Snetterton on 16 & 17 July are available in advance from £10, with free admission for children aged 12 and under. For more information call 0843 453 9000 or click the link below.
