Snetterton gears up for packed schedule of races from BMCRC

Monday, July 04 2011

Bike fans are in for a treat at Snetterton this weekend (9 & 10 July) with a timetable of 38 races from the British Motorcycle Racing Club scheduled on the new 300 circuit.

Byron Beckett currently leads the MRO Stock 1000 championship, with Jonty Dixon and Jon Waghorn embroiled in a battle for second place with Dan Fowler.

Dan Couzens is the front-runner in the MRO Minitwins series, having won eight of the 20 races so far this season. Luke Helm is his closest competitor with Sam Cox third.

The Freshdrop BMZRC 250 series is a much closer affair. Chris Rogers currently leads by just 16 points from Jonny King. With 25 points for a win, and four races scheduled this weekend the championship could look very different at the end of racing.

Scott Hudson is dominating the BMCRC Rookie 600 series, with more than double the points of nearest rival Jay Budgen. Hudson has in fact won every race in the series so far in 2011. The Rookie 1000 version is much closer though, with Tim Cripps 40 points behind leader Gennaro Esposito.

Three-wheeled drama will come from the F1 and F2 sidecars. In the F1 category Mick Bleakley and Heath Lane are 31 points ahead of Kev Cable and Dan Gower, while in F2 Marc and Rik Vanniewenhuyse hold a commanding lead over their nearest rivals Wesley Pettman and Guy Pawsey.

Further action comes from the Yamaha Past Masters, Thunderbike UK, British Historic GPs Powerbikes and the BMCRC All-Comers Open Championship.

Tickets for the British Motorcycle Racing Club are available for £10 with free admission for children aged 12 and under. For more information call 0843 453 9000 or click the link below.
