Ride Snetterton circuit with charity bicycle event this month

Wednesday, July 06 2011

Snetterton circuit will shortly play host to two-wheeled action of a different kind, with the Snetterton Bike Ride charity event taking place on Friday 22 July.

Action for Children is calling on cyclists of all abilities in the Norfolk area to get on their bike and help raise cash for vulnerable children, young people and families in the local area. Entrants will cycle as many laps of the Norfolk circuit as possible in two hours.

The cycling fundraiser takes place on Friday 22 July, between 5:30pm and 8:30pm, and costs just 10 to enter. Entrants are encouraged to raise as much sponsorship money as possible with all proceeds going to support Action for Children's work across Norfolk and the UK. The event is open to all ages, although children taking part must bring along a participating adult.

Action for Children supports and speaks out for the most vulnerable and neglected children and young people, for as long as it takes to make a difference in their lives. The charity works with the most vulnerable and neglected children and young people whose families need support, are in care, who are disabled and who experience severe difficulties in their lives.

Laura Hanratta, Action for Children Local Partnership Fundraiser, said: "This event is open to anyone, of any age that can ride a bike and is the perfect way to raise vital funds for an incredible cause while getting healthy in the process. As there is no age restriction it is a great opportunity for families to get together and enter as a team.

"The event promises to be a huge success so we urge people to sign up and get cycling as soon as possible."
