Young Motorsport Journalist Competition extended until 31 January

Tuesday, January 04 2011

In December, MSV launched a search for the next generation of sport writing talent through our Young Motorsport Journalist of the Year competition.

We have already received several strong entries, however we are offering even more budding young journalists the opportunity to see their work in print by extending our competition deadline until Monday 31 January.

About the competition
We're asking schoolchildren aged 11-17 inclusive to write a 300 word race report based on a video that we've selected - click on the link at the bottom of this page to visit our dedicated competition website and watch the videos.

The competition will be split into two categories - 11 to 13 year olds and 14 to 17 year olds - and three winning entries will be selected from each age group by a panel of MSV judges.

The prize
Each winner will be awarded a YoungDrive! introductory driving lesson in a BMW 1 Series at either Brands Hatch in Kent, Oulton Park in Cheshire or Bedford Autodrome circuit.

Their reviews of the experience will be included in a 2011 programme at one of our largest race meetings. They will also be published on our website and we will send out their reviews as a press release to regional media.

How to enter
All the information you will need to enter can be found at our competition website - click on the link at the bottom of the page to watch our race videos and upload your reports.

We've also uploaded posters to the website, which you can download, print out and display around your school or youth club to promote the competition.

Good luck!
