Sports and Saloon car action as the BARC visit Snetterton

Sunday, April 10 2011

The British Automobile Racing Club make their first visit to Snetterton's new 300 circuit this weekend (16-17 April) with two days full of variety across a packed 22-race programme.

Sportscar racing action is provided by the Caterham Graduates and amongst the four classes, John Parker, Reece Somerfield, Ian Anderson and Myles Packman will be looking to capitalise on their slim early leads in Classic, Super, Sigma and Mega respectively.

The MaX 5 championship is holding the opening round of its 8th season this weekend, with racing expected to be closer than ever.

Fans of classic saloon cars are well catered for, with multi-class series starting with the Classic Saloon and Historic Touring Car Championship for pre-'66 cars. The era up to 1974 is covered by the Autoglym Post Historic Touring Cars Championship, whilst Classic Group One Touring Cars runs from this period until 1983. The next ten years is celebrated with Pre '93 Touring.

Continuing the multi-class theme, single-marque tin top action features with the Kumho BMW Championship and the Blue Oval Saloon Series for Ford fans. If that isn't enough, then the Classic Thunder series for pre-2004 classic modified saloons will satisfy all tastes.

Finally, the opening rounds of the MSA 250cc British Long Circuit Kart Championship will take place at this meeting.

Tickets for the BARC Club Car Championships at Snetterton are available from £10 for adults with free admission for children aged 12 and under. For more information call 0843 453 9000 or click the link below.
