Masters Historic Racing Club swap Top Hats for Easter bonnets

Tuesday, April 19 2011

The Masters Historic Racing Club celebrate Easter at Snetterton with a race exclusively for British cars at its annual Snetterton event this Saturday (23 April), run on the superb new Snetterton 300 circuit.

The Easter Allcomers race, open to all British-built cars from 1950 to the end of the 1970s, will be the highlight of the meeting and will run for 20 minutes.

Top Hat Event Manager James Beckett said, There is no other race for British-built sports-racing cars that weekend, so the chance to drive the new Snetterton 300 is one not to be missed. Britain produced some great cars throughout this era and this race at Snetterton is an ideal opportunity for drivers to race their cars on the new 300 layout."

Racing in the 1970s celebration race will be Chris Rea. The singer, guitarist and keen club racer will be taking the wheel of his Ferrari 308 GT4, which has been a previous race winner.

There will also be races for Pre-66 Touring Cars, Gentlemen Drivers and Oldies but Goldies, including the XK Challenge.

Tickets for Top Hat Historic Racing at Snetterton are available on the gate from £13 for adults with free admission for children aged 12 and under. For more information call 0843 453 9000 or click the link below.
