High speed Snetterton to host blend of sports car and single seater action

Sunday, September 12 2010

The 750 Motor Club visits Snetterton this weekend (18/19 September) for an eclectic mix of tin top and single-seater action.

High speed action will be provided by the Formula 4 category, featuring F3 derived cars, Formula Ford machinery and an invitation class. Malcolm Scott currently heads the championship on 198 points, with Robbie Watts second nine points behind.

A taste of Le Mans will be exhibited by the 750 Formula series, featuring sports prototype racers with an average lap speed of over 90mph. Roger Dawe is dominating the championship so far, 66 points ahead of his nearest rival Dave Robson.

Tin top highlights come from the MR2 Championship which, as its title suggests, features Toyota MR2 cars with the series split into two classes. Zac Chapman is the runaway leader in Class B, while Jonathan Grimes leads Class C.

Cash-efficient racing is at the heart of the Locost series, which features cars based on the popular Caterham style racers. All cars must be capable of passing an MOT on the day, and the series is currently headed by Scott Mittell.

Young hot-hatch racers of the future aged 14-17 will battle it out in the Saxmax series featuring Citroen Saxos built between 1996 and 1998. Scott Moakes is the series leader but Anthony Whorton-Eales is hot on his heels just 11 points behind, with 25 points on offer for a win.

Further action will be provided by Formula Vee, the 750 Trophy, All Comers, Bike Sports and the RGB championship.

Tickets for the 750 Motor Club at Snetterton on 18/19 September are available from £10 for adults, with free entry for children aged 12 and under. For more information call 0870 950 9000 or click on the link below.
