Snetterton set to roll back the clock this weekend

Sunday, October 10 2010

Historic sports car fans are in for a treat this weekend (16/17 October) when the Classic Sports Car Club visits Snetterton for its penultimate event of the year.

The CSCC is one of the younger organising clubs in the country having been set up in 2001, but has grown rapidly to over 600 members with more than ten race meetings a year.

Featuring this weekend is the Swinging 60s series featuring a mix of sports, saloons and GT cars produced in the 1960s. Expect to see a huge range of machinery, including Aston Martins, Jaguar E Types and Ford Mustangs.

The Tin Tops series is aimed at novices and has two races on Sunday featuring cars ranging from the iconic Mini Cooper to more modern Honda Civic Type R.

Also in action this weekend is the Future Classics for sports, saloon and GT cars from the 1970s and 1980s that are not yet defined as classics, but are well on the way to picking up that desired status.

Completing the line up is the Magnificent Sevens for Caterham and Lotus Seven type cars, the new for 2010 Classic K series for GT and Touring cars build prior to 1966, and the Jaguar XJ and Saloon championships, and the Sports Car v Saloon Car Challenge.

Tickets for the Classic Sports Car Club Championships at Snetterton on 16/17 October are available from £10 for adults, with free entry for children ages 12 and under. For more information call 0870 950 9000 or click on the link below.
