GT Trophy spectacular set to light up Snetterton sky

Sunday, October 24 2010

Snetterton's penultimate event of the 2010 calendar promises to be one of the most spectacular of the year, as the new for this season GT Trophy visits Norfolk for two one-hour races, with one staged in the dark.

This Saturday's (30 October) event is the second round of the GT Trophy which saw its debut in May on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit. The series features exotic machinery from manufacturers including Ferrari, Porsche, Corvette and Ultima and offers drivers longer endurance races compared to the sprint races seen in the GT Cup.

Mark Sumpter and Adrian Slater were the winners at Brands Hatch, but the extra spice of night racing will only add to the unpredictability.

Drivers to look out for include newly crowned GT Cup champion Marco Pullen driving a Ferrari 360 with co-driver Mark Speller, British GT runner up Glynn Geddie sharing a Porsche 997 with Andy Ruhan, and Aaron Scott and Leon Price's Ferarri 430.

The first race of the day will held in the mid afternoon, but with race two starting at 7pm the headlights ablaze will make for a spectacular sight as the cars head down the lengthy Snetterton straights.

Support this weekend comes from the VAG Trophy featuring two wheel drive machines from VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda, Closed wheel Formula Libre and the Golf GTI Championship.

Tickets for the GT Trophy at Snetterton on 30 October are available from £10 for adults, with free entry for children aged 12 and under. For more information call 0870 950 9000 or click on the link below.
