Trio of top championships for Snetterton in 2010

Monday, March 01 2010

Snetterton will host the UK's three leading motorsport championships in 2010, as the Norfolk circuit reveals its race meeting calendar for the upcoming season.

More than 30 events will take place between March and November, including the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship in July. More than 30 riders have already signed up for the 2010 season, which will feature major rule changes to spice up the show and a brand new Evo class, as well as new involvement from manufacturers BMW, KTM and Aprilia.

Snetterton will host two major car events in August, starting with the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship at the beginning of the month. The Norfolk track will then feature the British F3 International Series, which will include the home circuit debut of Kings Lynn racer Alex Brundle - son of former F1 driver Martin - in a joint headline meeting with the British GT Championships.

Motorsport fans will also be able to enjoy a new viewing area from mid season onwards, as Snetterton is currently constructing a new spectator banking along the Revett Straight.

Jamie Hopper, Snetterton Circuit Manager, said: "We're looking forward to a very busy season with racing to suit all types of motorsport fans. As well as our major promoted events, we have a huge programme of club level racing and our new spectator banking will offer fans some fantastic views from the Revett Straight to the start line."

Other highlights this season include the Lotus Festival in June and the Citroen 2CV 24 hour race in August, plus a new GT Trophy into the night race and the Modified Live performance car festival in October.
