Bike racing season gets underway at Snetterton

Sunday, March 21 2010

Snetterton plays host to its first bike event of 2010 this weekend (27/28 March), as the British Motorcycle Racing Club (BMCRC) arrives in Norfolk for round two of their 2010 championships.

The BMCRC, now in its 101st year, is the oldest motorcycle club in the world and has developed a strong following and full grids at all of its meetings.

Snetterton will offer the riders a very different challenge compared to the previous round at Brands Hatch. The long straights at the Norfolk circuit will test the bikes straight line speed to the limit as the riders go for 4-a-breast in the battle for victory.

Three riders arrive at the Norfolk circuit with a 100% record from the opening round at Brands Hatch. Byron Beckett, Tony Coombes and Dan Booth all took maximum points from the Kent circuit and will hope to defend this unblemished record.

The F1 Sidecar partnership of Alan Richardson and Colin Two, and the F2 Sidecar pair of Tony Brown and Mark Hegarty will want to continue their fine start to the season and take four more victories each during the weekend. Several other teams will be out to stop them, making the daredevil sidecar races one of the weekend's highlights.

The weekend's racing will also feature Junior Minitwins, BMCRC Rookie 1000, BMCRC Rookie 600, BMZRC MZ250, Rookie Minitiwns, MRO Minitwins, 1000 Clubman Cup and MRO Powerbikes.

Tickets are now available for the BMCRC event at Snetterton on 27/28 March. Adult tickets cost from £10 with free entry for children aged 12 and under. for more information call 0870 950 9000 or click on the link below.
