70th celebrations for the 750 Motor Club

Friday, March 05 2010

The 750 Motor Club kicks off its 70th anniversary celebrations this weekend (13/14 March) with a season opener event at Snetterton featuring single seaters, saloons and sports cars.

Formed in 1939 to promote Austin Seven racing events, the 750MC has grown steadily over the past seven decades to incorporate a wide range of vehicles. The organisation now has 24 centres located around the UK and hundreds of enthusiastic members.

The club's developments for 2010 include a prestigious new prize for the SAXMAX championship for 14-17-year-old drivers, as the overall title winner will receive a test and race meeting entry in the bike-engined Formula Vee series, courtesy of the AHS team.

In total there will be 18 races over two days and, as well as SAXMAX, other highlights at the Snetterton season opener include Formula 4 two-seater sports cars, Formula Vee and historic Austin 7 Specials.

A number of local competitors will be taking to the track this weekend including Thetford's Peter Studer in his Formula Vee and Sudbury's Bruce Brown in his Luego Velocity Kit Car.

Tickets for the 750 Motor Club at Snetterton on 13/14 March cost from £10 for adults, with free entry for children aged 12 and under. For more information call 0870 950 9000 or click on the link below.
