2021 BTCC calendar announced

Monday, July 20 2020

MSV's race venues will collectively host half of the British Touring Car Championship's events in 2021, following the announcement of the series' calendar for next year this afternoon.

15 of the championship's 30 races next season will take place across five triple-header events at Brands Hatch, Donington Park, Oulton Park and Snetterton.

The opening round returns to the Brands Hatch Indy circuit on 3/4 April, following its one-off move to Donington for 2020. The longer Grand Prix circuit will host the season finale on 9/10 October, as has become traditional over the past decade, with the Kent circuit's two layouts return to their usual spots on the schedule.

Donington Park's National circuit remains an early season fixture on 17/18 April whilst Oulton Park's ever-popular event is set to come on 15/16 May. The season should heat up quite literally at Snetterton which hosts the first round following the championship's mid-season break on 31 July/1 August.

Alan Gow, BTCC Chief Executive, said: "Well, this is certainly a new first for the BTCC - issuing the following year's calendar before the current season has even begun… but I'm sure everyone will agree that it's nice to see some 'normality' returning to the schedule.

"Having said that, with our first 2020 event now less than two weeks away at Donington Park, there is phenomenal enthusiasm for getting this season underway amongst our teams, supporters and partners."
